ARE YOU CURIOUS AND COURAGEOUS? READY PUT ALL IN?
INNOVATION CHALLENGES ARE MEANT FOR ALL STUDENTS, NO MATTER WHAT YOU STUDY.
THE ONLY PRE-REQUISITE IS AN OPEN AND CURIOUS MIND! And a commitment to 10-15 working hours per week.
** NEW INTENSE COURSE FOR WINTER 2020 – 3 CR **
These challenges are real life projects, that bring your creativity skills up. This course will take your theory knowledge into practice and shows you the innovation project phases through real examples. You will challenge your thinking and gain insights about your own strengths and capabilities – you build your expertice. This course pushes you into action: setting goals and achieving them.
All this is done together with the team and excellent coaches – not alone.
CHALLENGES – winter 2020 :
- 1 How could young people of 14 – 16 make an impact to their neighbourhood?
Case: Tampereen Nuorisotyö/ Youth Services
The challenge is to find out what is going on in Tampere youth services and how is it visible to students of secondary school, age 14-16. Based on that info, the team is challenged to develop novel and exceptionel youth services for 2020-2025. There is room for innovation!
City of Tampere has budgeted nice amount of money to develop chances to partake in neighbourhood development.
The team may decide which part of the city they are focusin on: South, East or West.

- 2 Towards an ecologically prosperous society – starting a transformation
Case: Council of Tampere region
What does a prosperous and ecologically active society mean? The kind of a society, where people, nature and climate prosper together? Single solutions (like energy efficiency, electric cars) often remain as separate activities. What we need is a new 360 degree perspective – a discruption – that combines separate activities and actors in a new way! What kind of societal structures are needed to support us in thinking and acting in an ecologically sustainable way in all areas of life? How can we mobilize the civil society, organizations and companies to join? Think globally, act locally!
- 3 Bring your own challenge!
You can enroll in the InnovationChallenges course by bringing your own challenge! If you want to be inspired, you can e.g. check the goals of sustainable development offered by United Nations: here. Maybe you have an idea you developed in another course and want to carry on with this project course? An idea from InnoEvent you didn’t complete? We will take care of the process which will enable you to develop your interest into a potential innovation.
